Let’s be real—getting in front of the camera is super personal. And when you’re trusting someone to capture moments you’ll never get back, it helps to know who’s behind the lens, right? So in the spirit of connection, I’m spilling a few things you probably didn’t know about me… and a few that might just surprise you!
1. I love being in front of the camera too.
Yep, it’s true! I genuinely love photoshoots—not just taking them, but being in them. Beautiful portraits just make people feel good (myself included), and I think that’s a huge part of why I’m so passionate about what I do. Everyone deserves to feel amazing in front of the lens.
2. I had my first and second child 20 years apart.
I had my first son at 20 and my second at 40 — yep, starting all over again after two decades. It’s been one of the biggest blessings and greatest joys of my life. I never imagined I’d get to do the whole baby stage again, but what a privilege it is to walk through it all over with fresh eyes (and a lot more patience than my 20-year-old self had, let’s be honest). I’m having a BLAST!
3. I’m a Cajun girl at heart.
Born and raised in southern Louisiana, I can absolutely throw down in the kitchen. Cajun food? Say less. Gumbo, jambalaya, crawfish étouffée… I’ve got it covered. And no, I’m not out here stirring roux for hours like my Maw Maw used to, but I promise—it still hits the spot.
4. I do hair and makeup for most of my sessions.
Not only am I your photographer, but I’m also a licensed cosmetologist. Most of my clients get the full experience with professional hair and makeup done by yours truly. It helps bring the vision together and ensures you look and feel your absolute best.
5. I’m a DIY queen.
When I’m not photographing or editing, you can probably find me knee-deep in a home project. I’ve got a full-blown toolkit (we’re talking miter saws, Dremels, drills, the whole nine yards). I’ve laid backsplash, hauled gravel, redone backyards, and hauled entire cabinets from Home Depot… where, by the way, many of the staff definitely know me by name. Making my home beautiful is my happy place!
6. I’ve got an eye for making spaces feel like home.
Along with my love for DIY projects, I’ve always been drawn to decorating. Rugs, curtains, paint colors — all of it. Pretty much anything creative, I’m all in. I love bringing a space together and seeing it feel like home.
7. I love Jesus.
Faith is at the core of who I am. I love Jesus with all my heart, and I do my best to live a life that reflects His love by serving others with the gifts I’ve been given. That purpose shows up in the way I love on my clients, too.
8. I love surprising people with big gifts.
Gift-giving is definitely my love language — but I don’t always stick to small stuff. I’ve surprised friends and family by redoing entire homes, down to the little details in each room, and I’ve even gifted complete new wardrobes. There’s nothing better than seeing someone light up and feel completely loved and cared for. It’s my FAV!
9. I truly love what I do.
Photography is more than just taking pretty pictures. It’s storytelling, celebrating who someone is in this moment, and giving them something tangible to hold onto forever. I don’t take that lightly. Whether it’s a high school senior or a family session, I pour my heart into it every time.
10. You’ll feel like a friend, not a client.
At the end of the day, I want you to feel cared for, seen, and celebrated—because you are. This experience is just as much about the relationship as it is about the pictures. And trust me, once you’ve had a session with me, you’ll leave feeling like we’ve known each other for years.
